Video Collection: Energy: sources, alternatives and issues
- Learning Areas Science
- Strand/s Science as a human endeavour
- Year/s 6-10
7
This collection examines a range of innovative possibilities for harnessing various energy sources, while considering what the future might hold for their development. Power generation from solar panels in space and two of the latest coal-based gas extraction methods are a few of the technologies covered. Two resources investigate recent developments in nuclear energy. One of these looks at a prototype fusion reactor in Europe and the other at an experimental pebble-bed test reactor in China. The collection includes interviews with scientists and researchers involved in the projects and coverage of related important issues.
